Runners get started in the Shamrock Shuffle run on the Kansas River levee in North Lawrence. Funds raised by the annual run and the St. Patrick's Day parade this Friday will benefit the Douglas County Friends of Children in Foster Care, the Health Care Access Clinic and the Douglas County/K-State Research and Extension 4-H and Youth Development.
Walkers begin their 2K walk at the event.
Tighe VanAnne, 20, Eudora, was the first runner to finish the Shamrock Shuffle 5K run with a time of 16:35.
