Alan Shi was selected as the winner of the Kansas District Optimist Clubs' Boys Oratorical Contest. The contest finals were April 22 in McPherson. Alan previously won first place in the Lawrence Breakfast Optimist Club contest, followed by the regional Zone 10 contest. Alan is pictured with his mother, Judy Wu.
