In 1956, the newly married Falens walked up the aisle in Winfield's First Methodist Church.

Carol and Darrell Falen, who recently moved into their new home in west Lawrence, have been married 50 years. They celebrated their anniversary last month by inviting their children and grandchildren to join them in Hawaii.

Darrell got an early start in athletics. Growing up in Stafford he played both basketball and football.

The Falens celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their family in Maui. They flew their family to Maui to help them celebrate for a week.
