Original Inhabitants of Lawson Brothers Farm are shown on the property two miles east of Vinland. Gary, Dennis and Stan Lawson took possession of their great-great-grandparents' property in 1991.
Blackberry and raspberry canes at the Lawson Brothers Farm will produce ripe berries for sale this summer. The brothers would like to keep planting more berries until they've filled a 10-acre area.
Bertha Weiler, who lived alone on Lawson Brothers Farm until her death at the age of 95, is pictured tending the chickens on the family homestead. When she died in 1991, brothers Gary, Dennis and Stan Lawson took possession of the property, which was settled in 1856 by their great-great-grandparents.
Gary Lawson, one of the owners of Lawson Brothers Farm, uses mostly modern equipment to grow raspberries, blackberries and strawberries, but he takes pride in the old equipment that remains on the family homestead, first settled in 1856. Lawson carries a walk-behind hoe out of the barn at the farm, located two miles east of Vinland.
