Buck Newsom, left, and Vincent Muirhead, both of Lawrence, were in the Naval Academy together and were both in Hawaii when Pearl Harbor was attacked on Dec. 7, 1941. Newsom and Muirhead shared some memories of their service in World War II on Tuesday at Muirhead's home, where Newsom found a model of a blimp like those he flew. Muirhead holds a model of a F6F5 Hellcat, which he flew.
