The front of the Plaza movie theater and a parade in downtown Ottawa, is captured at left, in this photograph from around 1947. The Plaza Grill and Cinema was recently discovered to be the oldest operating cinema in America, revealed in a recent donation of photographic negatives to the Franklin County Historical Society. The 1905 date would be two years before the current Guinness Book of World Records says the oldest operating cinema started.
