James McKenzie, a retired Lawrence fireman, and his wife, Susan, ride two of their six high wheel bicycles, also known as Ordinaries. McKenzie collects and restores the bicycles, which were popular in America and England in the 1800s. They will be on display today at the Community Bike Ride hosted by the Lawrence Central Rotary Club. The event begins at 8 a.m. at the Rotary Arboretum at Clinton Lake, 5100 W. 27th St. There will be free t-shirts, helmets, snacks and three routes to choose from: a one-mile, three-mile or 10-mile.
