Lawrence High School students Puja Shah (left), Elbeg Erdenee, Rose Kennedy and Sarah Kinder toured Washington, D.C., while competing at the 2013 National History Day event in June. Erdenee was part of a team that placed 13th nationally for a group website about the Mongolian conqueror Chinggis Khaan. Kinder and Kennedy were awarded the Special Prize in Asian-American History for their documentary entitled "San Francisco Earthquake: Chinese Exclusion Falls Through the Cracks."
