A pair of professors — one from Missouri and one from Kansas — have teamed up on a new book featuring essays that set the tone for the time period surrounding Quantrill's raid, "Bleeding Kansas, Bleeding Missouri: The Long Civil War on the Border." The book is published by University Press of Kansas and edited by Diane Mutti Burke, associate professor of history at University of Missouri-Kansas City, and Jonathan Earle, associate professor of history at Kansas University.
