Jesse Cooper, left, and Tim Finney, workers with Fulsom Brothers, cut a piece of steel cable before fastening it within the median of a 2.3-mile stretch of K-10 near Eudora on Thursday. The cable barriers come after the April 2011 death of 5-year-old Cainan Shutt, who was killed when a vehicle driven by an impaired driver crossed the median and struck a vehicle driven by Cainan’s grandfather.
