The Mo-Kan Federation of Cosmopolitan International recently donated $650 from the proceeds of a raffle at their recent convention in Lawrence to Sara’s Superheroes Walk to Cure Diabetes. Sara Maddox, center, accompanied by her parents, Bonnie and Mike Maddox, accepted the check. Sara was the guest of honor at the convention and provided a moving account of her diagnosis and daily activities in treating Type 1 diabetes. Kevin Harmon, of Lawrence, submitted the photo.
