I don't know what story this picture belongs to, but I'm thinking perhaps this is part of a children's display. I remember making stuff like this back in elementary school. My 10 year old granddaughter makes stuff like this all the time.

I have greatly enjoyed viewing Stephanie's collective works. The piece pictured is part of a series and part of her vision. For us all to critique the visual world we should try and use actual critical feedback instead of pointless insults. Maybe this work doesn't speak to you, maybe it does. Explain you points, don't use childish remarks.

For example, discuss the techniques used. Clearly the artist used textile techniques (metal attached to the ceramic phone piece). The message I receive from this piece is we need to listen more than we speak (enlarged ear piece). Our words can cause pain (the tears dangling down from the bottom of the mouth piece). I could see this work displayed in a different way other than hanging on a wall mounted hook. However, this adds to the point of the piece. It is suppose to be an abstract version of a phone. The cast shadows behind the piece on the wall are lovely.
