Kansas House Speaker Mike O'Neal, right, forwarded an email referring to First Lady Michelle Obama as "Mrs. YoMama." His office says it was a political cartoon, and O'Neal should not be criticized for sending the email.

The picture: On the left is the President of the United States of America's wife.
On the right is a clown. shrug

Oh, for crying out loud: lighten up! There were hundreds of political cartoons of Barbara Bush and Nancy Reagan, which got bantered around by Democrats and nobody said a word! Now that its the wife of a Democtratic President, it's blasphemy. Depending on whose eyes you see them through, each wife is susceptible to the types of jokes made of them. It's just an unfortunate part of the political system we've created.

a totally off based comment
In the Nancy Reagan and Barbara Bush time, email use was much less than it is now.
There are people who used public employee time to make disparaging remarks about them that were censured.
Just saying something does not make it true, next time try to say something honest or verifiable or relevant, otherwise you are just blowing hot air and offer not value to the discussion.

It 's a racist action, d_v, by a short-sighted elected representative. He has embarrassed us all. He does not get a pass.

Friggin A he's wearing a Jayhawk tie... I'm guessing he doesn't sport a "Kansas: as biggoted as you think." bumper sticker.

How many times does this same story get run ?
hedshrinker 1 year, 4 months ago
Apparently the story gets run as frequently as this public official continues to use his official email to forward partisan political cartoons....this is the 2nd time this week; doesn't he have important state business to attend to? This is about the comic developmental level of grade school boys...sure doesn't inspire confidence that his actions will be statesman-like.

How many Emails did Mr. O'Neal send concerning the exit of Boeing from Wichita and the 2100 jobs that will leave with it? Narrow minded, bigoted incompetents like him are hell bent on ruining Kansas, and the nation. Mrs. Obama is not a politician and has behaved graciously in her role as First Lady, as was true of Mrs. Bush before her. Even if you disagree with the President respect is warranted for the First Family. The retreat of civility in politics is the primary reason most politicians should be sacked and go back to some real job.
