Martha Parker, director of the Wakarusa River Valley Heritage Museum, holds blueprints for the museum expansion project that will break ground this fall. The museum, pictured at left in background, features much of the history of the Wakarusa Valley and the communities that were affected by the construction of Clinton Lake, pictured in background at right near Bloomington Beach. Also planned at the site on Sept. 8 will be a Sigel Harvest Home Picnic Dinner and Music Festival. This festival was the precedent for the annual Douglas County Fair.
