Ruth Becker helps low-income pregnant women and children gain access to health insurance through the state's Medicaid program called HealthWave. Becker, an outreach eligibility specialist, is located at Turner House Children’s Clinic, a Kansas City, Kan., nonprofit that serves uninsured and underserved children, but travels to other areas in Kansas City. She also helps residents in surrounding communities like Lawrence.
