Jerry Moran watch as Judy Bellome, executive director of Visiting Nurses in Lawrence, shows them how a telemonitor system works for patient Shirley Webb. The system takes her vital signs and then shares the information electronically with her doctors. Bellome said the telemonitors help reduce hospitalizations because they alert health care providers to potential problems before they become emergencies.
