Nope. Wrong. You have every right to belive that homosexuality is wrong. You do not have the right to deny homosexuals their equal rights. It's a very simple concept, really.

"We do think that you are ignorant rednecks"

Sanctimonious liberalism at its best. I just hope all that smarm didn't leave a stain on the sidewalk.

She is obviously an old crackpot as are her 10 supporters.

You'd have more luck than you could ever imagine, to have CJ Brune on your side. She is one of Lawrence's most thoughtful citizens, and has many, many friends and admirers.

You should be more careful, "Mike."

"We do think that you are ignorant rednecks"

How to negotiate 101: First, insult your opponent.

Since, Ms. Brune lives in a red state does she consider herself to be a redneck?

Lawrence is the San Francisco of the Midwest and it should not be a flag bearer of what is morally and religious right. Every human being has the right to be disgusted by homosexuality because of its unnatural inference. The fundamental of life has no room for homosexuality because life is about procreation. It is a behavior of choice from mental hyper incognizance due to lack of control or discipline, is now propagated by political influence bought through economic interest and media. If they have the right to express homosexuality tendency; Kansas citizens then have the right to express their disgusts based on moral and religious beliefs and the order social governance.

I'm always suspicious of people who focus on how "disgusting" homosexuality is. After all, such people have to be thinking about the act itself to be "disgusted" by it.

Some studies have shown the most homophobic people are really sick.

We are now spreading and selling this behavior around the world as normal.

Perhaps blue states should keep the money the Feds use to subsidize red states as well.

thank you Carol Jean. Keep up your good work. You are standing up for what you think is the right. Democracy seems to scare the heck out of the redfaced conservatives. We don't need goofy law to allow prejudice to gain ground.

Can anyone give me a legal reason, not a religious reason since we don't live in a theocracy or any other religiously themed form of government, why two consenting, legal-aged adults cannot enter into a contract?

Marriage, or any other version of it, still requires the lisence, which is, in essence, a legal contract between two legal-aged, consenting American citizens.

Set the religious dogma aside and explain to me why one segment of the population should not have access to the same legal rights that other segments are freely given.

If I remember my history lessons correctly, religion was one of the primary arguments against ending segregation. I certainly hope that we can all agree that slavery, and the attendant segregation that followed the Civil War for almost 100 years, was a disgrace. Granted, I almost want to see someone say those laws should be brought back as well. I could use a good laugh.

They need bigger signs as the group could be mistaken for a line of losers headed for the soup kitchen.
