Larry Fullerton, of Lawrence, a volunteer with Friends of the Library, sorts boxes of books in the library basement Tuesday in preparation for the Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale. The sale opens for Friends members Thursday, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and then to the public Friday, 11a.m. to 7 p.m., and continues through Tuesday All proceeds go to support the library’s collections, services and programs. The sale takes place in the big white tent at Seventh and Kentucky streets.
