Judith McCrea, visual art professor at Kansas University, left, gets a happy surprise Thursday on KU’s first day of classes as Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little informed her that she was a winner of KU’s 2010 W.T. Kemper Fellowships for Teaching Excellence. McCrea got a visit from KU’s “Surprise Patrol” while she was meeting with her Life Drawing class in the snack bar of the Art and Design building.
