Ebenezer Otu-Nyarko, a doctoral student in the Animal Sciences Department at University of Connecticut in Storrs, Conn., is studying chicken vocalizations. The object of the research is to figure out from their language when the birds are distressed, so caretakers can make them more comfortable, leading to better egg production.
