An illumination of part of a message ‘Happy Birthday Big Ben, 150 years, 1859-2009’ is seen projected on the Clock Tower of Palace of Westminster in London to celebrate Big Ben’s 150th anniversary Saturday. Big Ben, a name originally given to the Great Bell, first struck the hour on July 11, 1859. The name “Big Ben” is often associated with the Clock Tower, which houses the Great Clock and the hour bell, Great Bell, as well as the four quarter bells, which chime on the quarter hour.
