People attending the annual convention of the Old German Baptist Brethren Church greet one another before going to breakfast after a 7 a.m. worship service Sunday at the convention site south of Lawrence. The convention, in which members discuss and vote on church issues, is being conducted this year in Douglas County.

While different congregations of the Old German Baptist Brethren meet to discuss the future of the church, down the road the youth socialize, pray and gather for fellowship. Early Sunday morning the youth joined the rest of the church for a prayer service.
