Pakistani protesters condemn President Pervez Musharraf's government Wednesday, at the end of an eight-day siege of the Red Mosque in the eastern city of Peshawar that left more than 100 radicals dead, including a pro-Taliban cleric. The sign at right reads "whoever is a friend of America is a traitor of Islam." A terror assesment released Wednesday in the United States says that Al-Qaida's core leadership is increasingly directing global terrorist operations from a haven in Pakistan's lawless tribal areas bordering Afghanistan.
