Riot police officers detain opposition demonstrators during a protest Saturday in Moscow. Police detained Russian opposition leader Garry Kasparov, the former world chess champion, and at least 170 other activists as they gathered for a forbidden anti-Kremlin demonstration in central Moscow. Kasparov was freed after being fined $38 for participating in the rally.
