Union Pacific steam Locomotive No. 844 heads west past the Lawrence Visitors Center Tuesday. Steam Locomotive No. 844 is the last steam locomotive built for Union Pacific Railroad. It was delivered in 1944. The historic engine is on a 35-day, 10-state tour to celebrate the railroad's history and heritage.
