Monday marks the second wave of evacuees losing Federal Emergency Management Agency financing of their hotel rooms. Jackson, had been staying in a hotel in Mansfield, La., but had to leave because of the extension deadline. FEMA promised the evacuees from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita that they will still receive federal rent assistance that they can put toward hotel stays or other housing. But the agency will no longer pay for their hotel rooms directly.
