tested positive for the newly discovered steroid THG and the
stimulant modafinil at the U.S. championships. Toth, who competed
at last year's Kansas Relays, faces a two-year suspension, the U.S.

While his wife prepared to give birth to their third child, Jason
Botz decided to build an igloo in the front yard of their east
Lawrence home. Botz, shown Monday inside his creation, slept
overnight in the igloo on Friday, when the outdoor temperature
dropped to 9 degrees. Inside the igloo, Botz said it was a
relatively toasty 40 degrees.
Lawrence superintendent Randy Weseman visits an East Heights site
preschool class last fall. These students will be entering
kindergarten next school year, and teachers are raising concerns
about the prospect of increasing elementary class sizes for the
2004-2005 school year because of budget constraints.
