Charles Marsh signs that the boat dock isn't steep enough to properly launch a raft onto the Kansas River. Marsh's son, Kester, an English teacher at Kansas School for the Deaf, and a colleague were piloting the craft on the river as part of a lesson on "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn."
