Slender Figures flank the French Cultural Center in Dakar, the capital of Senegal. Lawrence poet Brian Daldorph photographed the statues during a summer 2000 journey to the West African country and included the images in his new poetry collection, "Senegal Blues," which was inspired by the trip.
