A vehicle thrown into a house is among the damage caused by
Saturday's tornado in Hoisington. Officials estimate 182 homes were
destroyed, 52 others received major damaged and 569 dwellings in
all suffered some damage in the storm Saturday.
Kaili Kuiper, a resident of KU's Watkins Scholarship Hall, was a
candidate for hall proctor but was passed over. Kuiper, a Salina
junior, says she thinks the reason she wasn't elected was because
of her involvement in the hall's lawsuit against Kansas University
and Bank of America over the way trust funds are administered. KU
officials deny the accusation.

Visitors to Universal Studios Hollywood flock to the Jurassic Park

Christina Frazier, 31, was diagnosed two years ago with a rare
blood disease. During her illness Frazier, a KU student set to
graduate in May with a bachelor's degree in art, continued to
create artwork. One of her most significant works, finished in a KU
Med Center hospital bed, was a 9-foot dress designed to symbolize
her continual blood loss. "It's kind of a map of my illness,"
Frazier said. "That's how art works you try to work through your
feelings, and that's why it just got so big.
Construction crews continue work on a new Lawrence Arts Center in
downtown Lawrence. This month's work followed a March in which 200
more construction jobs were added in Lawrence.
