Donations are down this year for the Salvation Army bell-ringers. Thursday Donnie Blasingame plays his guitar instead of ringing his bell as he mans a donation kettle at Dillons, 1015 W. 23rd. Cold weather and the circumstance that Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday, traditionally the biggest day for the bell-ringers, are contributing to the decline. The bell-ringers don't work on Sundays.
