Dee Ketchum, chief of the Delaware Tribe of Indians, traveled in October to Lawrence to meet with leaders of the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce at the Kansas Union. In a unanimous decision Wednesday, the chamber's board of directors said it would oppose any casino gambling proposal for Lawrence or the surrounding area. Ketchum's tribe, based in Bartlesville, Okla., wants to build a $60 million complex on 80 acres north of Lawrence.
