Letter to the editor: Trump acts guilty

To the editor:

Our fractured, conflict-driven political landscape gives some the hope for a radically “different order.” In this poisoned environment enter pipe bombs for opponents of the diminishing Republican power structure.

One potentially explosive issue is the possibility of Donald Trump being used by Russian political operatives, hoodlums and tycoons. Robert Mueller’s investigation may reveal some facts behind Eric Trump’s claim that “We have all the funding we need out of Russia. We go there all the time.” The IRS repeatedly looked at money laundering at Trump’s Taj Mahal casino for “repeated and significant” deviations in money laundering laws. It incurred the largest fine levied to date. Trump’s towers in Florida have been snapped up by Russians and companies designed to conceal their owners.

Trump trashes Mueller’s character and tweets viperously of his attorney general. That is the defense of a guilty man.

Trump is apparently no more than a shady businessman who associates with international gangsters and politicians opposed to America. Prosecutors in New York have the cooperation of the Trump Organization’s CFO, Allen Weisselberg, and may subpoena Trump’s tax returns. These may show money laundering and Russian connections. If it demonstrates criminal and treasonous behavior, will House and Senate Republicans still defend him? My money is on continued support. You know what to do Nov. 6.
