What would you ask if you were the moderator in tonight’s presidential debate?

Asked at Massachusetts Street on October 15, 2008

“One of the things I think deals with our economy, but also this spending that some of these companies have had in the past. In your newspaper you had an article about what the small guy could do (to save money). ... What are they going to do to get them on an even ground with me?”

“I would say the economy. They're skirting a little bit around the issue, and they haven't laid down any concrete plans as to what they would do to make sure we don't go into a recession or something of that nature.”

“I'd like to hear more specifics on how they would stimulate the economy and what specific plan they have to go ahead and do that. It just seems like they throw out all these ideas - both parties have, actually - of tentative plans, but I want to hear some concrete ideas.”

“We've been blind-sided by all these economic developments and crises that didn't seem to be planned on. What kind of crises do they see might arise? And what are they going to do about that, such as food shortage, energy costs during the winter? What kind of things are they doing to prevent an even bigger hole opening up under us?”
