Do you think Joe-College.com’s T-shirt designs infringe upon the business trademark of Kansas University or harm the school’s image?
Asked at Massachusetts Street on July 10, 2008
“I would say no. I don't see any Jayhawks or even any with KU on them. I live in Wichita and see plenty of shirts that are worse than those.”
— Mark Massaglia, teacher, Wichita
“I don't think they infringe on any of KU's trademarks at all. Every university has someone making shirts like those. I don't think it has any effect on the school's image.”
— Debbie Filkins, receptionist, Lawrence
“No, I don't. It doesn't harm the school's image because it's not officially licensed by the university. And they're not using any images that are exclusively owned by the university, so I don't see the problem.”
— Nick Miller, Kansas University sophomore, Lawrence
“As far as the image thing goes, I think they may have a point. A lot of those shirts are hardly school appropriate.”
— Amy Stahl, Free State High School sophomore, Lawrence
