Should privately funded travel for members of Congress be banned or limited?

Asked at Massachusetts StreetChad Brown on March 11, 2006

“I'd say ban it if they're not using the funding for something that relates to their position.”

“I think they should ban it, because they're taking advantage of someone else's money to accomplish their own goals. That's abusing their power.”

“I think it needs to be limited to a case-by-case basis or at least have some set parameters.”

“I don't know that it should be. There's no taxpayer money involved, so as long as it doesn't interfere with them doing their job, there shouldn't be any reason to.”
