The Lady and the Panda by Vicki Constantine Croke. I'm reading it for a book club and was at first hesitant, not being a huge nonfiction reader. But I love it. It's a great story of the first woman (fashion designer turned explorer) to capture and bring home a live giant panda, a baby, in the 1930s.

finished "rabble in arms" historical fiction, long but well written by Kenneth Roberts published back in the '30s RE historical fiction from american revolution.

-now reading "America and Americans" by John Steinbeck. somewhat hard to get 1966 essay answering the question who are americans and why. very good writing, a little dated of course.

CrazyKS, this is a weekly collumn, was under pulse, and now for some infathomable reason they've been sticking it under OTS...apparently based on the superficial similarity...asking questions and listing the answers.
oughta go back to books/pulse
