Going on a recommendation in the Toronto Globe and Mail book section, I picked up The Shia Revival: How Conflicts Within Islam will Shape The Future by Vali Nasr, a Professor of Middle East and South Asia Politics at the Naval Post Graduate school near La Jolla, Calif. Professor Nasr writes in a most clear, concise and easily understood manner. I am learning a lot about Shia and Sunni Islam and the difference and conflict between them.

the post graduate school is not near la jolla, is in monterey. saw your author interviewed, very good.
liked the farm worker's book, werrill, will look for it.
and, I'm reading biography of Sr. Francis Drake. more of my seafaring reading. would love to find web feed of live ocean sounds, prefer pacific ocean monterey bay or north from there in CA.

yes, we read, MS-Canada, its just a slow time for posting right now w/ku getting under way. you should see it down here: the accidents happen more often, spacey students wander into traffic on and off campus, kinda amazing how transformed this community gets for a couple weeks then settles down until the first sticking snow.
