Should the City outlaw grilling on apartment balconies and decks?
Asked at Massachusetts Street on July 17, 2005
“Yes, they should. It's a fire hazard. Unattended fires can get out of hand with the grease and whatnot.”
— Nathan Atwood, Johnson County Community College sophomore, Lawrence
“I don't think so, because I'm moving into an apartment this year, and I want to grill. As long as people are careful, it shouldn't be a problem.”
— Alison Ryan, waitress, Lawrence
“No. I lived in a college town, and I don't see a problem with it as long as the people grilling take some responsibility.”
— Ben Salba, retail manager, Detroit
“I don't think that should be banned. You should be able to grill on your own deck. People should just be careful.”
— Ginny Williamson, behavior consultant, Lawrence
