Should the city put in a roundabout at 19th and Louisiana streets?
Asked at Java Break, 17 E. Seventh St. on January 4, 2005
“I’m going to say no, because roundabouts only slow people down. People leaving the high school don’t need to be slowed down.”
“I think there should be. It would probably help prevent accidents among students and make the street safer for future Lawrencians.”
“That is a horrible idea. I don’t like roundabouts in the first place, but that would basically make it a four-way stop. That intersection needs to have a light because of the schools. They need to stop wasting money.”
“Not a lot of people know how to use roundabouts, and they end up being a four-way stop. I think that it ultimately won’t work out.”
