Should the Lawrence school district charge community organizations to use school facilities?
Asked at Lawrence Post Office, 645 Vt. on March 31, 2004
“I would have to say, as a part of a not-for-profit organization, doing that might mean disbanding or not being able to meet, so no.”
“Yeah, I think it’s reasonable because of the school closings and stuff. They’re short on funds.”
“No, because we built them with our tax money. We work and pay taxes for our kids. That should be a place where they can grow and learn.”
“They shouldn’t have to. This is just one more reason why people in Lawrence should start writing the Legislature. It’s their fault.”
