Who do you think is most likely responsible for the terrorist attacks Thursday morning in Spain?
Asked at Massachusetts Street on March 12, 2004
“Last I heard they were blaming ETA (a Basque separatist group). That was at 2 in the morning on the BBC.”
“I just saw the news and they said al-Qaida did it.”
“I have trouble believing ETA wouldn’t take credit if it did it, but I’m not sure it’s al-Qaida, either. It’s probably just some terrorist group that wanted to cause destruction.”
“We have a culture of violence worldwide, and terrorist organizations are very loose anyway. So attributing this to any particular organization is probably making it more organized and political than it actually is.”
