Should Douglas County allow fireworks to be shot off year-round in unincorporated parts of the county?
Asked at South Park on June 20, 2004
“I think so. It’s not going to hurt anybody. As long as you’re not setting things on fire, I don’t see anything wrong with it.”
“I’m fine with letting people shoot off fireworks when they want to, but I would worry about fire hazards in the middle of nowhere.”
“Absolutely. I live in an unincorporated part of Douglas County. I shoot them off and plan to continue to do so. The Fourth of July and New Year’s are appropriate because they’re celebrations.”
“If I lived out in the country I wouldn’t want people setting off fireworks whenever they wanted to around me, but if they had a special place for it that would be nice.”
