Should the United Nations intervene in the civil unrest in Haiti?
Asked at Massachusetts Street on February 28, 2004
“No. I don’t think the U.N. should involve itself in civil disruptions. Where would we be today if England had recruited others to squelch our uprising?”
“Yes, they ought to send aid to Haiti because it’s a very troubled spot right now. They need help.”
“Yes. I think the United Nations should take care of it and not the U.S. on its own.”
“At the very least, the U.N. should send in people to observe and monitor any human rights violations and stop the violence.”
