Should doctors be able to recommend marijuana to patients without fear of federal prosecution?
Asked at Massachusetts Street on October 16, 2003
“I don’t know if I agree that a doctor should promote illegal activity, but I don’t think the government should punish them. It’d be nice if they could prescribe it.”
“I think that’s better. It’s not like they’re handing it out to them.”
“I think that’s probably OK. If the doctor thinks it will help the patient, I would take the doctor’s advice.”
“If the patient is sick, yes. Some of these cancer patients take marijuana to ease pain and there are no side effects. It’s a good thing.”
