Is Massachusetts Street losing its character to chain stores, bars and restaurants?

“I think certain areas are. Some blocks are more than others, but by and large I think it’s better than most places.”
“No. It still has its fair share of little shops and ‘places around the corner,’ as you’d say.”
“Possibly. What scares me it that big corporations may not be responsible to the community. They don’t seem to care about the community.”
“I would say no. I think there’s still a variety of locally owned shops and restaurants. Although there is Gap and American Eagle, they add an element to get people down here and out of the shopping malls.”
