Do you think a ban on “soft money” political contributions is unconstitutional?
Asked at Hy-Vee, 3504 Clinton Parkway on May 3, 2003
“Yes, because it gives some people an unfair advantage.”
“I don’t think it’s unconstitutional, but I don’t like them. Money sways our political process too much.”
“I would want the Supreme Court to rule on it before I say it’s unconstitutional or not. It’s a process that has its problems, but I don’t know how else you would fund a political campaign.”
“There should be a ban on soft money contributions because if someone has more money, they have more power. Someone who doesn’t have as much money to donate doesn’t have as much say.”
