Should the Oscars have been postponed after the United States began a conflict in Iraq?
Asked at Massachusetts Street on March 21, 2003
“No. People need to get their minds off the war.”
“Yeah. We have to make sure we set our priorities right, and that seems to be the right way to do it.”
“Yeah, this war is a lot bigger than the Oscars are. I think we really ought to focus on that more.”
“No, not particularly. I think most people thought the war was a foregone conclusion anyway, so they’ve already been dealing with it. Now people just want to get through it without being horribly depressed. It’s good to have a little diversion.”
