How do you think the nation as a whole is responding to the war on Iraq?
Asked at Massachusetts Street on March 7, 2003
“I think the nation, the common people as a whole are not supportive of the war.”
“I don’t think they’re paying attention. My students aren’t paying attention. They have no idea what’s going on.”
“I think the nation has been overcome with a kind of patriotic hysteria. I think that this administration has been able to convince the people there is a connection between 9-11 and (Saddam) Hussein, which doesn’t exist.”
“I think they are responding very intelligently and reasonably, but I think there are quiet supporters of the war. It’s nice that we have the ability to protest.”
