Do you think an advertising campaign with the right approach could sway resentment of the United States in the Middle East?
Asked at Borders Books, Music and Cafe: on March 4, 2003
“I’m sure advertising sways a lot of opinions, whether they take the right approach or not. Who’s to say what the right approach is?”
“I think that actions other than war might say more.”
“I don’t really think it’s going to have much of an effect because of the strong beliefs and anti-Americanism.”
“Probably not. I think that a lot of their resentment toward us has been ingrained since they were little. I don’t think a flashy ad campaign can change something that’s been around that long.”
